LATE NEWS U.S. DELEGATES PREPARED FOR TALKS ON KOREA
(Rec. 3.10 p.m.) TOKIO, April 14. General MacArthur, in his latest report on Korea, said the American delegates to the United States-Soviet Joint Commission on Korea- were ready at any time to participate in renewed discussions with the Russians. He stressed that consideration of “pertinent matters” must be conducted on the basis already, set forth by the American commanding general in Korea. ‘ General MacArthur’s report Was released following publication of; General Marshall’s statement blaming Russia for the economic distress ip Korea. • —• AT MILTON REYNOLDS; LANDS AT. TOKIO AIRFIELD (Rec. 3.5 p.m.) TOKIO, April 14. Milton Reynolds, the millionaire amateur airman, who is trying to break the round T the-world flight record, landed at Yokota airfield at 7.1 a.m. The flight of approximately 1100 miles from'Shanghai took three hours and 39 miiiutes. The elapsed time since leaving'New York is 48 hours 50 minutes; Reynolds was .16 to 18 hours behind schedule at Shanghai. Most of the tiine was lost on the ground. Reynolds said the “Bombshell” averaged 365 miles an hour aloft, with an overall speed, including stops, of. about 300 miles an hour. : The pilot, William Odom, was- so tired that he fell asleep under the “Bombshell’s” wing as soon as he crawled from the plane at Shanghai.
