STRONG AMERICAN PROTEST SENT TO JUGOSLAVIA

WASHINGTON, April 11. The Acting-Secretary of State (Mr Dean Acheson) said that the United States had delivered a Note to Jugoslavia protesting against the removal of property from the area to be included in the future Free Territory A strongly worded Note pointed out that the property had been removed without the consent of tne Italian owners, without compensation and without legal procedures, and that the removals were damaging to the. economic stability of the area. The Note had been sent on March 27, but no reply had been received. Mr Acheson added that the Unitea States had received no satisfactory reply to the protest to Jugoslavia against the seizure of nine wardamaged Italian vessels.
