More Canadian Newsprint . . . “Australia, New Zealand and Britain are likely to get larger quantities of Canadian newsprint this year,” said Mr C. M ; Croft, senior Canadian Trade Commissioner in Australia. “Canada’s 1947 newsprint production is expected to exceed 4,000,000 tons. It was 2,951,000 tons in 1946.” Mr. Croft added that Canada, which was now supplying more than half the world’s newsprint would set aside 500,000 tons for division amnog overseas markets. The United States would get about 3,500,000 and Canada would use 250,000 in domestic consumption.—Canberra, March 16.
