The fire damage was Estimated conservatively £6OOO, but it was considered that the actual loss was considerably greater. Over 30 new chesterfield suites, valued at £lOOO, and three late modpl motor-cars owned by the h™, which were in the building throughout the fire, were badly damaged. Over 50 fowls perished.
