ELECTION IN JAPAN

DIET POLLS TO BE HELD IN APRIL TOKIO, Feb. 17. The Japanese Government has decided to dissolve the House of Representatives on March 30 and hold new general elections for the Diet on April 25. The elections for the new House of Councillors, replacing the present House of Peers, will be held on April 20, and the elections for various lesser posts will all be held before the new constitution becomes effective on May 3, in accordance with a recent suggestion from General MacArthur.
