The following weather forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon to-day:— Situation: A very deep cyclonic depression centred east of the North Island is moving away slowly, an intense anti-cyclone is east of Tasmania. Forecast to 5 p.m. to-morrow: Moderate or fresh south to south-east winds; weather fine but cool. Further‘outlook: Fair. 9 a.m.: barometer, 29.62 inches (1003 millibars); thermometer, 54; wind, south (gentle breeze); sky, blue and cloudy; bar, moderate sea; rainfall, 0.02 inches (The total rainfall to date this year is 8.05 inches).
