REEFTON NEW OFFICE FOR STATE COAL MINES
(0.C.) REEFTON, This Day. Work has been commenced on the building of a new State Mines Office at Reefton, The new office will be next to the Reefton School of Mines. A plan room is to be incorporated in the building which will house the staff for the administrative work of Burke’s Creek and Garvey’s Creek State Mines. Mr. R. Yellowlees is the contractor for this building, and also for a storeroom which will be built at the Burke’s Creek Mine. DEMOLITION OF SHOPS. The burnt-out shops in Broadway, which were affected by the fire of last November, are now being demolished and will later be rebuilt. PERSONAL. Mr. C. H. Benney, Under-Secretary for Mines, is expected to visit Reefton to-day.
