YEAR’S DROUGHT ENDED TN m. (Rec. 12.15 p.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The steady soaking rain which still persists has ended the drought in the parched western and north-western areas of New South Wales. The earlier rains were light and insufficient to make Up for the months of dryness. To-day country correspondents are jubilant after the falls lasting throughout yesterday and last night. The continuous rain in such areas as Baradine, Coonabarabran, Collarenebri and Moree has broken the drought of nearly a year’s duration. Baan Baa reports the best rain for years with the low country flooded and'the streams bank high. Collarenebri has received five to eight inches of rain since Tuesday, whereas, the total rainfall last year was nine inches. Manilla reports the best rainfall for 19 months.
