THE WEATHER Forecast: Fair To Fine.

The following weather forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon to-day:— Situation: Pressure is low to the north of the North Island; an anticyclone is moving towards New Zealand -from the west. Forecast to 5 p.m., to-morrow: Moderate southerly to easterly winds; weather cloudy to overcast with some scattered rain at first, improving from the south and becoming fair to-morrow. Temperatures: M'oderate to mild. Further outlook: Fair to fine., LOCAL RECORDINGS. 9 a.m.—Barometer, 29.92 inches (1013 millibars); thermometer, 60; wind, south (light breeze), sky, blue; bar, moderate swell; rainfall, nil. (The total rainfall to date this year is 6.53 inches.) The depth on the bar at high water yesterday was 23ft.
