Blaketown Urged To Save Water
Tests made by the Greymouth Fire Brigade in Blaketown last evening disclosed a very low water pressure of 201 b to the square inch, as compared with the normal 801 b, according to advise received from the brigade by the Mayor (M'r. F. A. Kitchingham) to-day. The Mayor stated that this low pressure, according to brigade officers, would be practically useless for fire-fighting, and the effects of a fire in that area, with such a low pressure, would be serious. He urged that the people of Blaketown should use water sparingly, especially in the watering of gardens.
