BRITISH PASSPORTS

QUESTION OF VISAS FOR FRANCE (Rec. 10 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 6. ■ Holders of British passports issued in New Zealand and Australia still require visas before they can enter France. This is so in spite of a Foreign Office announcement that the abolition of .the visas agreement included Dominions’ nationals whose passports bore the words “British passport,” and who were listed inside as British subjects. A French consulate official stated that France had not realised that passports issued in New Zealand and Australia complied with these requirements. It was intended that the agreement should apply only to holders of British passports issued in the United Kingdom. Negotiations are continuing to have the agreement extended to the Dominions.
