THE WEATHER Forecast: Changeable
The following weather forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon to-day: — I Situation: An anti-cyclone covers 1 the Tasman Sea and northern New Zealand and pressure is low to the south of the South Island. Forecast to 5 p.m. to-morrow: Winds from a westerly quarter, fresh at times; weather changeable and rather cool with occasional showers, heavy at times; some improvement during tomorrow, with temperatures rising somewhat. Further outlook: Changeable, westerly weather. LOCAL RECORDINGS. 9 a.m.—Barometer, 29.93 inches (1013.5 millibars); thermometer, 47; wind, southerly (moderate breeze); sky, overcast and raining; bar, rough sea; river, normal; rainfall, 1.05 inches. (The rainfall to date this year is 105.35 inches.) The depth on the bar at high water yesterday was 25ft lin.
