FIVE SENIOR' OFFICERS APPOINTED (PA) WELLINGTON, Dec. 5. Further appointments to the New Zealand National Airways Corporation were announced to-day by the chairman (Sir Leonard Isitt). The appointments were those of chief accountant, chief engineer, opeiations manager, training supervisor, and secretary of the board. Mr D E Foley, who has been appointed ’ chief accountant, was seconded to Union Airways, Ltd., eight years ago in a similar capacity, aftei years of executive and accountancy experience with the Union Steam Sh p Company, Ltd. H R W + ? S -T an ■for accounting for both Union An ways and Tasman Empire Airways. Mr L Mangham, the corporation s new chief engineer, has been chief engineer for Union Airways since its G. Gerrand, who has been appointed operations was an original pilot commandei on Union Airways’ service, and befoie Rie outbreak of war he held the posiUon of service manager. He served \xzitb tho R.N.Z.A.F. nnd tfie R.A.r. Transport Command. He returned to New Zealand last year to become operations manager of Union Airways. Mr H C Walker, who has been appointed training supervisor, has been a pilot commander m Union Anwovs for the last 10 years. After long service in the R.N.Z.A.F. he rose to the rank of wing commander and rerpfvpd an American decoration for e vice in the Pacific.
