COMMUNIST ATTACK
FIERCE OFFENSIVE IN CHINA (Rec. 10.15 a.m.) PEKING, Dec. 5. - Fifty thousand Communist troops are reported to have opened a fierce offensive at Kiahsien, east of Shantung, which is only 30 miles across the Tsingtao Bay from American Fleet headquarters. Communist junks are standing by at Dairen and Port Arthur in readiness to ferry troops across the Gulf of Chihli to join the fighting near Tsingtao.
