REEFTON ELDERLY WIDOWER’S DEATH IN HOSPITAL

(0.C.) REEFTON, Dec. 3. The death occurred in the Inangahua Hospital, Reefton, shortly after midnight last night of Mr. Robert Scott, a widower, aged 72. It is reported that an inquest will probably be held to-morrow before Mr. W. B. Auld, J.P. , Mr. Scott, whose wife died recently, had been a patient at the Inangahua Hospital for some weeks. He had resided in the Inangahud -district for over 50 years, and leaves a large family. INCREASED COAL OUTPUT AT REEFTON (0.C.) REEFTON, December 2. From October 28 to November 30, a five weeks’ period, the coal mines in the Reefton district produced 12,048 tons of coal. In the week to November 30 2937 tons were consigned from Reefton, the highest tonnage railed from the station for six weeks. Since April Reefton mines have consigned from 85,681 tons of coal. NOVEMBER RAINFALL The rainfall at Reefton in November totalled 7.29 inches with recordings on 16 days. The highest fall on any one day was 2.33 inches on November 27.
