OFFICERS NOMINATED

TIMBER-WORKERS HOLD ANNUAL MEETING

All officers of the Westland Timber Workers’ Union were re-elected unopposed, with the exception of members of the committee, for which extra nominations were received, at the annual meeting of the union last Saturday.

The following are the re-elected officials: President, Mr. J. Reedy; vice-president, Mr. F. Rudkin; sec-retary-treasurer, Mr. F. Turley. The following were nominated for the committee: North of Greymouth (three wanted): Messrs J. Craig, K. Ogilvie, J. Madden and R. Rutter. South of Greymouth (three wanted): Messrs J. Comport, E. Barrow, E. Johnston and W. Lawrence. Re turning officer: Mr. Robinson. Conditions for a new award were discussed and it was stated that details would be forwarded to all mills as soon as possible. In the meantime employers would be asked to discuss the matter with union representatives.
