A Republican Victory Forecast

(Rec. 11.40 a.m.) NEW YORK, October 31. A News Week poll of 50 Washington correspondents shows that the majority of political writers predict that the Republican Party will gain control of the House of Representatives in the Congressional elections on November 5. Giving the Republicans 228 and the Democrats 206, the writers forecast that the Senate will be equally divided with the Democrats and the Republicans having 48 seats each.
