REPARATIONS CLAIM
COMPENSATION FOB ILLTREATMENT (Rec. 11.40 a.m.) MELBOURNE, Oct. 18. . The Australian Prisoner-of-war Relatives’ Association has asked the Federal Government to demand £20,000,000 reparations from Japan as payment for sufferings, death and sickness in Japanese prison camps. The association has asked Mr. Chifley for £lOOO for every prisoner held by the Japs, £l5OO for minor disabilities. £2OOO for major disabilities and £3OOO for next-of-kin of those dead through ill-treatment.
