Brilliant Play. The final of the senior championship was a keen struggle between L. Rhodes, of Greymouth, and D. Francis, of Westport. Rhodes played excellent golf to defeat B. W. Caulton and H. C. Back Again. After a lapse of many years the Dalgleish Shield (teams’ match) has returned to Greymouth. The Greymouth A team, comprising B. W. Caulton, H. C. Hill, L. Rhodes, and A. B. Lancaster, was successful in taking the shield from Westport, mainly by the efforts of Hill and Rhodes, who played two- excellent rounds. Deserved Win.
Two Westport players fought out the final of the intermediate championship. They were E. Holder, better known as the former All Black footballer, and A. Pain. Pain was consistent throughout the tournament and deserved his win. Successful Season.
