“No Liberty Now Exists”
(Rec. noon). LONDON, October 15. The Rumanian Peasant Party has sent a memorandum to the British representative at Bucharest alleging that the Groza Government has created a situation under which it is impossible for the electorate to express its views freely at the forthcoming elections, says the Press Association. “No liberty of any kind now exists,” says the memorandum, which adds that the elections have been postponed since May in order to enable the Government to pursue a policy of falsification of Peasant Party requests to the Council of Foreign Ministers to send a representative to superintend the elections.
