Stillwater I The monthly meeting of the Still- ; water Women’s Institute was held in lhe Stillwater Hall on Monday evenjing. .Mrs Cooke presided over a good ; attendance of members. Two new • members were welcomed. ■ The copies of a pamphlet on meal i planning which were forwarded to : the institute were distributed i ojuengri; ihe member?-. Mrs Cooke '.made a comprehensive report, on the i Daminion. conference, at which she iwas a delegate. A visitor to flic con- ■ toreuco. Mrs Wilson, gave a talk on i her holiday in Wellington with other I institute visitors, Mrs Banks gave a I demonsrtration of the making of ’ scarves on a wooden frame. _ • I 'Oiirlnc; The social halr-hom*, Mrs ' Wilson conducted a novel competilion which was won by Miss Molly Johnston. The roll-call was: “Sing, say or penny pay.” Competitions resulted: Embroidered handkerchief, Mrs Cooke 1, Mrs Banks 2; wandering shilling, Mrs Wilson. The hostesses for the evening were Mesdames Smith and Quinlan.
