Showing its best form' for weeks, the Taranaki Rugby team beat Wanganui, 16-11, at Rugby Park, New Plymouth, on Saturday, in a bright, exciting game in which the Taranaki forwards were definitely superior. Canterbury Narrowly . Beats Buller (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 14. The game between the Canterbury and Buller representatives at Lancaster Park to-day was played at a fast pace throughout, on a hard ground, and in weather more suitable for cricket then for Rugby football. Canterbury won by 20 points to 19. Favoured in its play by a light nor’west wind, Canterbury had the better of the- first spell, and with a score of four tries (one of which was converted) it led by 14 points to 3 at half-time, Buller’s only score coining from a penalty goal. In the second spell Buller called the tune and scored 16 points to Canterbury’s six. . Bond, Miles, McHugh and Kelly scored tries for Canterbury, Kelly converting one and also kicking a goal from a penalty. For Buller Morgan scored a try, which Anderson converted, Anderson kicked two goals from penalties arid he and Blair kicked field goals.
