A Linwood (Christchurch) team playing at Rugby Park, Greymouth, on Saturday morning defeated the Celtic fourth grade team by 11 points to 3. In the afternoon, a Linwood fourth grade team played at Cobden and was beaten by Cobden, third grade team by 6 points to nil. At Westport during the week-end, Cobden juniors were beaten by Westport by 14 points to 6 and by Rovers by 20 points to 3. On Saturday at Westport, Blaketown juniors were beaten by Rovers by 11 points to : >, while on Sunday they had a win over Old Boys by 6 points to 3.
