It is intended in the next two. or three months to increase the ration to the inhabitants of the British zone in Germany from 1137 calories daily to the previous standard of 1550. This has been announced by the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster (Mr. John Hynd), who. added that the Government proposed, in connection 'with its de-Nazification policy, as a psychologically sound, generous gesture, to regard all German men and women born on or subsequent to January 1, 1919, as exonerated from any responsibility for the Nazi regime. unless guilty of dangerous cictivities* * Mr. Hynd said that after wide investigation he was satisfied that the allegations;* of corruption and immorality among members of the Control Commission for Germany and Austria were unfounded.
