CHRISTCHURCH Technical's Lead in Championship

CHRISTCHURCH, August 10. With only three more matches to play, the Technical Old Boys team made its hold on the 1946 Canterbury Union championship fairly secure when it beat Christchurch by 14 points to 9 to-day. Technical with 14 championship points, is now two clear points ahead of Christchurch and Sydneham with 12 points each, and following in order are New Brighton 11 A, Linwood 104, Sunnyside and University 81, Old Boys and Marist 41, Albion and Training College 4, Merivalc 2. Following are the results of Saturday’s names: —Technical 14, Christchurch 9. Marist 3, New Brighton 3. Merivale 20, Albion 6. Linwood .22, Sunnyside 8. University 7, Training College 0. Sydneham 24, Old Boys 3. CANTERBURY TEAM The following Canterbury team has been chosen to play Southland for the Ranfurly Shield at Invercargill on August 24:—Full-back: P.
