Murder of Negroes.
IYIUIUCI Ul The Georgia State Police Chief declared he was hampered in his investigation of the massacre of four negroes at Monroe because the “best people” in the town would not talk' about it. When he returned to Atlanta, he intended to ask the Governor to appeal to every Congressman to help to pass Federal legislation against mob violence. He added that he had several leads, but the local authorities were, not co-operat-ing.—New York, July 27.
