EMBASSY BULLETIN

BRITISH DEMAND FOR FREE

CHOICE PROTEST BY WARSAW REGIME (Rec. 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, July 19. The British Charge d’Affaires at Warsaw will demand from the Polish Government freedom of news expression for the British Embassy’s bulletin published in Warsaw, says the Exchange Telegraph’s diplomatic correspondent. The Polish Government was originally agreeable that the bulletin should print British news and views, but formally protested when the bulletin published extracts from the 8.8. C. monitoring service dealing with internal affairs of Poland. The correspondent states that the full contents of Britain’s reply to the protest have not been divulged, for diplomatic reasons, but it is known that the reply contains a categorical “No” to the Warsaw demands for British news only. The British Embassy intends to maintain liberty of choice of subjects published in the bulletin. _
