Christchurch Clash to be Discussed (P.A.) AUCKLAND, July 18. The clash of the England-South Island League match and the KiwiCanterbury Rugby game, to be played in Christchurch on July 27, was •main discussed at a meeting of the New Zealand Rugby League. The president, Mr. J. A. Redwood, read a telegram from the Minister of Defence (Mr. Jones) advising that Mr. S. S. Dean, chairman of the executive committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union, would arrive in Auckland to-morrow and had been asked by the Minister to meet Mr. Redwood in an effort to reach an agreement satisfactory to all parties. Mr. Redwood expressed satisfaction at the turn of events. He said the aid of the Minister had been sought, as the league felt that an injustice had been done in arranging the date of the Kiwi-Canterbury match.
