Important Changes in Germany
(Rec. 1 p.m.) LONDON, July 17.
The Ruhr is to be brought under a single German administration “for the sake of greater efficiency and convenience,” says Reuter’s Berlin correspondent. A British spokesman, announcing “an important ■ reorganisation of the political structure in the British zone,” emphasised that the chief purpose of the change was efficiency. “It is not intended to prejudge any inter-Allied decision in the future on the fate of the country.” The unified North Rhineland and Westphalia, which are at present under different administrations, will have their capital at Dusseldorf.
