BRITISH UNIFORMS
SMUGGLED INTO INDONESIA
(Rec. 11 a.m.) LONDON, July 17. British army uniforms are being smuggled from Singapore across the straits of Malacca and supplied to the Indonesian army, says the Associated Press Singapore correspondent. The smuggling traffic was revealed by a British officer when the skipper of a crew of all Indonesians of a motor-vessel was fined for the possession of bales of British military uniforms. A police launch chased the motorvessel. It caught her up as she was about to clear the breakwater and the uniforms were found hidden under tools.
