AUCKLAND Bramble Song Wins Hurdles
Cornwall Handicap Won by Good Bay
(P.A.) AUCKLAND, June 2. The Auckland Racing Club’s meeting opened in beautiful weather before a large attendance. The track was in good winter condition. The totalisator handled £226',652/10/-, against £218,059/10/- on the first day last year, an increase of £8593.
The favourite, Bramble Song, won the Great Northern Hurdles easily from Blue Title, who just as easily beat Hunto.
In a hurricane finish for the Cornwall Handicap, Good Bay won by a head from Leigh Hark, with a head to Master Robin, who just shaded Lowry Bay, with a neck to Young Trent. The winner paid close on £3O, and the second horse double figures. Results:—
