MODIFIED DY SENATE

WASHINGTON, June 1. The Senate, in the early hours of this morning, passed by 61 votes to 20 a modified version of President Truman’s emergency labour legislation. The Senate decided earlier by 61 votes to 19 to retain the provision making strikers in Government-oper-ated undertakings liable to court injunctions. A clause stipulating that strikers against the Government should losf seniority was deleted. The amended bill will be considered by the House of Representatives on June 6.
