THE WARSAW REVOLT

LEADER WELCOMED IN AMERICA POLISH PROTEST TO UNO NEW YORK, May 25. The Polish representative on the United Nations Security Council (Mr. Lange) has sent a letter to the Sec-retary-General (Mr. Trygve Lie), making the charge that the public appearance in the United States of Lieutenant - General Komorowski (General Bor), who iri 1944 led the ill-fated uprising in Warsaw against the Germans, is part of a hostile campaign against the recognised Government of Poland. Mr. Lange said that Lieutenant-General Komorowski openly advocates a third world war. . Mr. Lange also protested against die Assistant Secretary-Genefal of the United Nations (Mr. J. B. Huston) attending a luncheon -in New York to welcome Lieutenant-General Komorowski, when Mr. Huston is alleged to have said: “On behalf of the United Nations, I want to welcome you.” The Russian delegate (Mr. Gromyko) has also protested to Mr. Lie, who commented that Mr, Hutson was not authorised to welcome Lieuten-ant-General Komorowski on behalf of the United Nations. Mr. Gromyko in his protest strongly supported Mr. Lange, classifying Lieutenant-General Komorowski as an enemy of the Polish people. He added that Mr. Hutson’s action could not be regarded as anything but inadmissible.
