The following weather forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon to-day: — Situation: An anti-cyclone extends from the south Tasman Sea on to New Zealand. Forecast to 5 p.m., to-morrow: Moderate easterly winds predominating; weather fine, cold nights with frosts, day temperatures moderate. Further outlook: Cloud irtcreasing during Friday. LOCAL RECORDINGS 9 a.m.: Barometer, 1016; thermometer, 46; wind, easterly (moderate breeze); sky, blue and cloudy; river, normal; bar, moderate swell; rainfall, nil. (The total rainfall this year to date is 27.66 inches). The depth on the bar at high water yesterday was 19ft sins.
