SPANISH ALLEGATION LONDON, April 16
The Spanish Government has formally invited Britain, America, Holland, Brazil, and Egypt to send technical commissions to Spain, says Reuter’s Madrid correspondent. The invitation has been issued “to prove the falsity of the Polish charges that German scientists are conducting atomic research in Spain.” “There exists a secret agreement between Russia and France which threatens to lead to an invasion of Spain,” declared the Madrid radio today. “The Spanish Republican Government in France is at present preparing for military intervention by means of frontier incidents in the Pyrenees,” said the radio. “The Russians, once an incident is provoked, will .come to the assistance of their Allies, marching through France from the German and. Austrian zones of occupation. A Russian woman heads the-Paris organisation preparing for an attack against Spain.”
