REEFTON ANNUAL ST. PATRICK’S CONCERT

(0.C.) REEFTON, March 22. The annual St, Patrick’s .concert was held last evening in the Princess Theatre, which was well filled. Reefton. artists provided the combined numbers, and visitors from Greymouth, the Rev. Father McCarty and Messrs J. Duffy and T. Hatch assisted in giving the audience a fine evening’s entertainment. Mesdames J. Mulligan, F. W. Archer and W. Nicholls, and Miss Ross were accompanists. The pupils of Reefton Convent Schools gave two combined items. Miss J. Archer organised the programme. The items were: Opening choruses, “Top o’ the Morning,” “McNamara’s Band” and “Harrigan,” by the company; song,/“lreland, Mother Ireland,” the Rev. Father McCarthy; Irish Jig, Miss C. Galway; song, “Old Irish Mother of Mine,” Convent boys; song, “Little Bit of Heaven,” Mr. J. Duffy; recitation, “Pitchin’ at the Church,” Miss E. Malloy; song, “Macushla’,’ Mr. T. Hatch; song, Mrs. Sharpe; chorus, “Easter Parade,” the company; song, “Connemara,” Convent girls; song, “Eileen Alannah,” Mr. T. Hatch; tap dance, Miss P. Kear; song, “Fairy Tales of Ireland,” Mrs. C. Buist; Spanish scena, the company;’ vocal trio, “Eileen Aroon,” Nicholls sisters; sailor’s hornpipe, Miss C. Galway; song, “Phil the Fluter’s Ball,” Mr. J. Duffy; finale, “Irish Airs,” the company. The company were: Misses J. Archer, M. Buist, K. O’Malley, P. A. and J. O’Flaherty, E. Malloy, M. Lockington, Messrs F. and A. Archer, D. Buist, D. Palmer, F. Brosnan, A. Henshaw, P. Werner, C. Baty.-The Irish reel was danced by B. and F. Stanley, Z. and J. Curtis, M. Blackadder, I. Coghlan, L. Miller, M. Lynch. The Rev. Father Fletcher returned thanks at the close of "the evening to assisting singers, the audience and Miss Archer. RUGBY FOOTBALL.

Mr. J. Dellaca presided at the annual meeting of the United Rugby Football Club. Reference was made by the chairman to the work of Mr. W. G. Porter, the retiring president, who did not seek re-election, and of the work of Mr. F. Bonifacio, who did not intend to seek re-election as delegate to the Sub-union. The following officers were elected: President, Mr. J. Dellaca; vicepresident, Messrs C. Free, P. Gilmour, J. Cutbush, W. G. Porter, R. Yellowlees, J. Latham, T. Dellaca, H. Bailey, C. Harris, W. .Downing, A. Lulham, S. Austin: secretary-trea-surer, Mr. A. Cleaver; club captain, Mr. P. Cutbush; selectors, Messrs J. Cutbush, C. Free and the club captain; delegates to Sub-union, Messrs J. Dellaca, C. 'Free; coaches, Messrs J. Cutbush and C. Harris. One senior and one junior team are to be nominated for the competitions. Subscriptions and insurance fees were fixed at the same as last year and a move is to be made to set up a fund for helping injured players. The possibility of flood lighting.the racecourse for practice is to be considered. . A recommendation was made that early in the season games be played against Sefton and Murchison. A letter of sympathy is to be sent to Messrs E. Fattoirini, a member who was recently severely injured in an accident, and Mr. Peter Porter, who suffered injuries in a motor collision.
