LANCE WING’S CHANCES IN SPRINT [SPECIAL TO "STAR.”] CHRISTCHURCH, March 22. The Oamaru Jockey Club’s autumn meeting will be concluded to-mor-row. The fields, in comparison with last week’s, have been strengthened by some of the horses which raced at the Wellington meeting, these including Grill, Patmos, and Air Lord. Grill ran himself out of hacks at Trentham, but is still eligible for his hack engagement, the Waitaki Handicap. He is also an acceptor for the open sprint. Patmos is also in the Waitaki Handicap, and in the Farewell Hack Handicap, and will probably start in the latter. Other fresh horses on the card will be Frances, Hine Rei, Scotty McCabe, Tuapeka, Fine Night, Majestic Fox, Hypholan, Foxchase, Amorlad, Lost Art, Siegform, John Gay, Sphere, Alpine, Fairy Bard, Drumsill, and Astros.

The weather has been fine since last Saturday, and the going will again be firm. Under the win and place system, the following horses should race well:— Novice Stakes.—Hine Rei, Espadrille, Frances.
