BELGIAN GOVERNMENT

(Rec. 2 p.m.) LONDON, March 21. The Prime Minister, Mr. Paul Spaak, resigned following his defeat yesterday. The Regent, Prince Charles, is expected to call on . Mr. Schryver, the Right Wing leader, or Mr. Van Acker, the former Prime Minister.

Mr. Spaak announced that he was going to the palace to resign as the result of his failure to obtain a Parliamentary vote of confidence, says the Brussels correspondent of the Associated Press. The House was equally divided, 90-90, with 16 absentees.
