FIRE TRAGEDY
INQUEST OPENED AT
GREYMOUTH
Inquest proceedings concerning the death of Neil McCarthy, a pensioner, aged 76 years, whose charred body was found among the ruins of his hut on Cobden Island early on Tuesday morning, were opened at Greymouth yesterday afternoon. Mr E. P. Stratford, J.P-, presided, and there was a jury of f OUr —Messrs Thomas E. Johns, John H. North, Alan J. Gilberthorpe, and Norman Kilgour. Evidence of identification was given by Constable Leslie Uddstrom, following which the inquest was adjourned sine. die.
