World Fund and Bank. . I In an atmosphere of apparent harmony the United States Secretary of the Treasury (Mr. F. M. Vinson) closed the inaugural meeting of the Go- • vernors of th? International Fund and 'Bank with a declaration that they were now established and beginning ! to breathe as a living organism. Thus, the 9,100,000,000 dollar bank and the 88,000,000,000 dollar fund came into existence, but actual lending or stabilising activities are still months arvay. ■ Directorships of both the Fund and .the Bank automatically went to Bri'tain America, China, France and India. Canada, the Netherlands, Bel- : gium, Poland, Greece, Chile, and Cuba .were also appointed to bank directorships. Canada, Belgium, the Netherlands, Mexico, Brazil, Egypt, and ; Czechoslovakia were appointed Fund I directors.—New York, March 18.
