Nearly ' £5,000,000 worth of food is included in the provisional allocation of Britain’s first contribution of £80,000,000— one per cent, of the national income—to UNRRA. Hungry Europe is receiving £1,060,000 worth of herrings and £280,000 worth of dehydrated beef and mutton. Other supplies are tinned meats £290,000, compound cooking fat, £94,000 and tea £417,000.
