BOUND FOR ANTARCTIC
PILOTS WITH WHALESPOTTING PLANES

Four Fleet Air Arm pilots are leaving Britain in September to fly the first whale-spotting planes to be used m the Antarctic, says the Evening News. The planes will be the Walrus type. Navy fliers have been chosen because they are well used to the shipboard life. They will remain aboard ship four months at a time and will be away from Britain for seven months.
