American Forces’ newspaper, “Star! and Stripes.” The correspondent re-1 turned here to-day after a five-dajn visit to Chetnik forces in the Jugoslav mountains. The correspondent says: The Chetnik forces are living under primitive conditions south of Belgrade. General Mikhailovitch goes about armed with an American rifle. He regards himself as King Peter’s War Minister. He claims no political faith. He acts merely as a professional soldier.
DEATH SENTENCES.
BELGRADE, December 31.
A Jugoslav Court has sentenced to death by shooting, four officials of. a government estate “for criminal mismanagement of national property.” Fourteen assistants have been imprisoned. This is among vigorous counter-measures Jugoslavia is executing against black marketers. .
