MINING.
The Ngahere return for the four weeks ended December 21 was 1100 ounces from 218,687 yards worked in 489 hours. The Snowy River dredge., return this week was 76 ounces in 130 hours from 24,000 yards.
The Blackball Creek dredge return this week was 70 ounces in 240 hours.
TURNBULL AND JONES.
WELLINGTON, December 22. The recent issue of shares by Turnbull and Jones Limited was oversubscribed more than nine times. The .directors are proceeding with allotment by ballot, and state that owing .to the holidays, allotment moneys will not be dub until the end of January.
