PATRIOTIC COUNCIL
MEETING AT GREYMOUTH. The monthly meeting ol' the Westland Provincial Patriotic Council was held in the Greymouth Borough Chambers last evening, Mr. A. _R Elcock presiding. The following members were also present:—Messrs. A Jenkins (Acting-Secretary), J. Rutland (Hokitika R.S.A. representative), F. A. Kitchingham, W. Green, F. H. Denton, N. C. Messenger, W. Clayton. E. W. Kennedy, and Mrs. F. W. Shallcrass. The business transacted was chiefly of a formal nature, no report being to hand from the National Patriotic Fund Board meeting held in Wellington on November 21. ft was decided that Mr. E. R. Neale, of Nelson, be re-appointed as the Westland representative on the National Patriotic Fund Board. A balance of £2856/4/3 held by the Greymouth branch is to be paid in to the Provincial Council, it was decided. The future constitution of _ the Reefton, Greymouth, and Hokitika Welfare Committees was discussed and it was resolved that they continue to function under the guidance of the- Provincial Council.
