'RETIREMENTS & APPOINTMENTS WELLINGTON, October 25. Recent postings to the reserve and the appointments of senior officers in the Air Department were announced as follow, to-day, by the Minister of Defence (Mr. Jones). » Air Commodore R. B. Bannerman Air Member for personnel ceased duty on October 8, upon posting to the reserve, and relinquished membership of the Air Board. Group-Captain M. F. Calder was appointed Air Member for personnel, and a member of the Air Board from October 8.
1 Group Captain F. R. Chisholm, Director of Medical Services (Air) ceased duty on September 5, on posting to the reserve.
Wing Commander G. H. Forrest was appointed Director of Medical Services (Air) on September 5. Group Captain G. N. Nicholls, Director of Organisation and Staff Duties, ceased duty on September 26, upon posting to the reserve. Wing Commander F. R. Newell was appointed Director of Organisation and Staff Duties with effect from September 26. Group Captain E. M. Lewis ceased duty as Inspector of Administration upon cancellation of the post and was ■posted to command of R.N.Z.A.F. station at Ohakea on October 13.
Wing Commander W. F. Shanly, Director of Manning ceases duty on October 31, upon posting to the reserve. Squadron Leader C. C. N. Johnston, Base Personnel Staff. Officer (Pacific) was appointed Director of Manning with effect on October 31.
Wing Commander O. J. O’Brien, Director of Training, ceases duty upon cancellation of post on October 31, and is returning to the R.A.F.
