CYCLING
GREYMOUTH ROAD RACE. Nineteen cyclists started in a road race from Karoro to Kumara Junction and back (20 mile's) held by the Grevmouth Cycling Club on Sunday in fine weather, though there was a strong head wind for the first leg of the journey. H. Pratt, off the 2min. mark, who was unlucky in the 100 mile race in Canterbury last weekend finishing second, was first in, A. Hinks (2min) was second and D. Clark (3| min) third. Fastest time was secured by J. Cooper off scratch, who covered the course in 47 minutes. HOKITIKA TO GREYMOUTH The following handicaps have been declared for the Hokitika to Greymouth road race to be held next Saturday afternoon. The race is timed to start on the Kanieri Road, Hokitika, at 2.30 p.m. and is to finish at the Brickworks, Karoro. Fastest time in the race carries the 25 mile New Zealand Championship. G. Hinks, S.
