[OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] REEFTON, October 3. Heavy rain at Reefton during the night was followed by a steep drop in temperature, and there has been a fresh fall of snow on the mountains. This morning it was snowing lightly at Blackspoint, and yesterday snow fell at Waiuta. Treetops on the west bank of the Inangahua River beyond Reefton were this morning covered with snow. _ ■ ; 4 Mr J. Lawrence, stationmaster at Reefton, suffered injuries to his ribs, when he was adjusting some truck covers at work and slipped. He was removed to the Reefton Hospital. The injuries are not serious.
