The sum of £6OOO had been spent by the New Zealand Alliance in preparing its case to the Royal Commission on Licensing, according to a statement made yesterday at a meeting of the Christchurch Presbytery by the Rev. A. D. Robertson, who presented the Temperance Committee’s report. Churches of all denominations had contributed about £1761. The Presbyterian Church’s contribution should probably be about £2OOO, said the Rev. T W. Armour.
