DISMISSED WORKERS LONDON. September 6. The Minister of Labour, Mr Issacs, stated at a Press conference that the numbers of people employed on munitions will be reduced. Five millions so engaged in the middle of last vear will be reduced to three millions by the end of October. After that they will be quickly reduced. He said these figures included all those engaged in shipbuilding and repairing, and also large numbers, who had been required for equipment and for stores for the forces. Mr Isaacs said the Government did not intend to release the men and women who are temporarily idle at their homes out of their turn. Thus it would keep faith with members of the services overseas.
